Nxtium International Scholarship Program
Overview
Nxtium International Scholarship Program (NISP) is a new opportunity for outstanding scholars from selected countries*, who are eager to improve their Academic English in pursuing postgraduate education.
Award recipients are selected through a global, annual, and competitive application process. The NISP offers a limited number of new awards in each cycle. The 2024-2025 award cycle is now closed. Applications for the next cycle, 2025-2026, will open in early July 2025.
* (i) At present, the NISP is available in Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Egypt, India, Kenya, Kyrgyz Republic, Madagascar, Mozambique, Pakistan, Syria, Tajikistan, Tanzania, Uzbekistan, and Uganda. (ii) In Canada, France, Portugal, and the USA, applications are accepted from those who are originally from one of the countries listed in point (i).
To be eligible for an NISP award, you must:
1. Reference is given to young professionals under 30 years of age.
2. Awards are provided according to need, but please consider the NISP a resource of last resort and secure multiple funding sources to reduce the amount you request.
3. NISP prioritizes Academic English programs to enroll in Master’s programs but will also consider applications for PhD studies. Local/regional English colleges and universities are acceptable for ISP funding, only if the quality of the course is maintained. Applications for part-time programs and short-term courses (Less than 12-month program) are not considered; neither are applications from students who have already enrolled in or commenced their postgraduate studies.
Applications are handled by local units of Nxtium International Scholarships Programs NISP.
Award Conditions
NISP awards are structured as half grant and half loan – where you need to repay 50 percent of the award amount. Scholarships for Master’s and PhD studies are granted for the entire duration of the degree course. For Academic English students, scholarships are awarded for the first year, after which you are expected to find funding from alternative sources.
The award covers the cost of international travel, tuition fees, health Insurance, and living expenses. It does not cover the cost of clothing, furniture, or living expenses for family members.
To maintain an NISP award, you need to demonstrate good academic standing, as well as ongoing financial need, during the course of your program.
